A reported capacity crowd of 5,700 came to the Erie Insurance Arena in downtown Erie to hear sitting Vice President of the United States, and Democratic nominee for President Kamala Harris Monday evening. Legacy and social media posts indicated that 1,000 people were turned away at the gates when the area reached capacity.

Speaking to the importance of winning Erie, Harris pointed to her positions on expansion of Medicare to cover home health care, reproductive rights, and creation of an “opportunity economy.” The Vice President drew contrast with her opponent, former President Donald Trump, playing a video of his remarks speaking of “an enemy within.”

Preceding Harris’s stump speech that began around 7:45 PM, were hours of lively DJ music, along with current candidates Jim Wertz, running for State Senate, and Eugene DiPasquale, the Democratic candidate for Attorney General. US Senator John Fetterman also shared remarks minutes before the Vice President, saying that “Erie picks the President.”
