he Millcreek Township Fire Department is accepting applications for 15 full-time firefighter positions, supported by the FEMA SAFER Grant Program. These positions will be permanently funded by the Township beyond the grant period, ensuring long-term stability for new hires. This initiative continues Millcreek’s transition to a combined department of paid and volunteer firefighters, adding to the team of 11 full-time and 25 part-time firefighters hired in the past year to boost community safety and emergency response.
The SAFER Grant aligns with Millcreek’s long-term goal to expand station coverage from two to four locations, enhancing response times and operational readiness. Each Engine Company is staffed by three firefighters focused on fire suppression, with Quick EMS response when needed. As an Advanced Life Support (ALS) agency, Millcreek now deploys Paramedic-staffed Engine Companies and maintains one ambulance to assist Millcreek Paramedic Services (MPS) during high-demand situations, ensuring comprehensive emergency care.
