REGION’S LARGEST TECH SUMMIT SET FOR JULY 10, 2025, VNET BUILDING ON SUCCESS OF 2024 SUMMIT, PROMISES TO BE BIGGER THAN EVER
Velocity Network (VNET) announced today its annual tech summit will be held at the Erie County Convention Center on Thursday, July 10, 2025. The 2025 summit will feature a diverse range of voices and further cement Erie as a growing technology hub.
The 2025 summit is set on the heels of VNET’s most successful summit earlier this year, with more than 200 attendees. Attendees, including business, non-profit and educational leaders from across the region, enjoyed up-close access to expert technology speakers from around the country.
The 2024 summit was headlined by the U.S House of Representatives Chief Information Officer. Putting Erie in the national spotlight is crucial to getting more investment and attention towards the flagship city as local businesses, like VNET, improve the city from within.
“We are encouraged by the hundreds of attendees that visited the 2024 VNET summit and chose to learn and spend their time with us –” said VNET CEO Joel Deuterman, “Continued learning and advancing the region’s relationship with cybersecurity, IT, and AI is critical to our region’s success. We are excited to show everyone what we have in store for the 2025 summit. Just like Erie, we’re improving ourselves every year.”
Further details will be announced as the 2025 summit approaches. Interested attendees can save the date by entering their email at vnet.us/vnetsummit. Emails provided here will be notified as soon as tickets go on sale.
VNET recently announced Phase Two of its home fiber expansion. The completion of Phase-One paves the way for an accelerated Phase-Two fiber-to-the-home expansion. Phase-Two, which is already in progress, will provide an additional 16,000 households with access to VNET’s fiber-optic network. VNET Fiber remains the only locally owned, end-to-end fiber-optic network in Northwest Pennsylvania.
33 years ago, VNET was founded by Joel Deuterman at his apartment on East 6th Street, helping to close a significant market gap when shopping for a personal computer. From selling PCs out of his Downtown Erie apartment, Deuterman planted local roots over 30 years ago, and made his dream come to life evolving from a one-person operation to northwest Pennsylvania’s leading managed IT services and fiber optic internet provider.
