The Erie Zoo is thrilled to partner with the Erie County Public Library for the Tales for Tails event during the Zoo’s January winter hours. This family-friendly event will occur on January 18th and 19th. Guests can participate in activities from 10:00 AM to 2:00 PM, with the Zoo’s hours running until 4:00 PM and the last admission at 3:15 PM.

Guests can explore one of four Erie County Public Library book stations located throughout the Zoo, choose a book, and read to some of their favorite animals. Library-led reading sessions will also take place at various times during the day, offering an interactive storytelling experience.

In addition to the reading activities, guests can participate in free Zoo class demonstrations, featuring an engaging story, a song, and a live animal encounter. These sessions provide a fun way to learn about wildlife and the Zoo’s education programs.

To encourage a love of reading beyond the event, the Erie Zoo has also stocked Free Libraries across Erie County with a selection of books. Hidden inside some of these books are surprise Zoo tickets, offering lucky readers a chance to visit the Zoo for free! Community members can find a participating Free Library near them, borrow a book, and join in the fun.

This event is included with the price of admission and is free for Erie Zoo Members. For more information and event updates, visit www.eriezoo.org or follow the Erie Zoo on social media.

The mission of the Erie Zoo is to foster appreciation of nature through memorable experiences and meaningful action.
