Citing three years of reform and rebuilding, Erie County Executive Brenton Davis today announced plans to seek a second term.
“Erie County is in a position to grow economically, with bold initiatives focused on serving the majority, not a chosen few,” Davis said. “From a newly established Department of Economic Development to the establishment of the first new industrial park in decades, Erie County has begun its long overdue turn toward prosperity. And there is much more yet to do.”
In his announcement, Davis rounded on “the old guard of political insiders” who have worked to block programs designed to grow jobs and promote fairness.
“I choose to focus my attention on the 267,000 Erie County residents who want progress and a County where their families can thrive,” Davis said.
As a retired Army Officer, enlisted Navy Veteran, and building contractor, Davis also holds a Masters of Professional Studies degree in Community and Economic Development/Applied Economics at Pennsylvania State University.
Davis made his announcement during a press conference at Fralo Industries, an Erie manufacturer.
Among his first-term accomplishments, Davis cited the reopening of Erie County businesses and returning freedom of choice to individuals and parents of school children by lifting County wide mask mandates while confronting the Covid pandemic head on with innovative testing and treatment centers. He also partnering with Penn State’s Behrend campus on multiple projects, and the creation of Project Neptwne, a study project centered on aquatic research and ecology on Lake Erie.
“For too long, Erie leadership consisted of the same group of political insiders looking for ways to serve themselves at the expense of the majority. I have broken that mold in my first term and I’m ready to continue fighting for the working families of Erie County,” Davis said.
