The Erie Downtown Development Corporation (EDDC) is excited to announce the highly anticipated reopening of Dave’s Diner, a cherished local institution that has been a staple in the community for years. As part of the ongoing transformation of Downtown Erie, Dave’s Diner will soon welcome back longtime patrons and new guests alike, serving up the classic comfort food and warm hospitality that made it a beloved destination.
The EDDC has been working closely with Dave Freeman, the owner of Dave’s Diner, to provide a new home for this iconic restaurant. The reopening marks an important milestone in the continued revitalization of the downtown area, offering a familiar and welcoming gathering space for residents, visitors, and the growing downtown workforce.
“I learned the meaning of community at a neighborhood diner, so I’m as excited as anyone to have Dave’s Diner reopening. It’s been a pleasure to work with Dave Freeman to bring back a community landmark. We look forward to wrapping up construction and opening the doors once again.” said Drew Whiting, CEO of EDDC.
Dave’s Diner’s new location will be in the newly constructed building on the corner of 5th & Peach in Downtown Erie. This building also houses 32 apartments and a parking garage. The diner will feature the same classic menu and nostalgic atmosphere that made it a favorite among locals. Guests can expect a welcoming environment where they can enjoy their favorite diner staples while taking in the exciting changes happening in Downtown Erie.
