Upcoming public input sessions regarding the future for the Erie Coke Site have been scheduled.

Last year the Erie-Western PA Port Authority acquired the property which had previously been occupied by the Erie Coke Corp.

The Port is partnering with the Erie County Redevelopment Authority on the long-term cleanup process. We are now in the very early stages determining the best pathway forward to remediate the site and eventually reuse it for other purposes, as part of an update to our Port Master Plan. Later this month the Port will host two community input sessions to seek the public’s perspective on the future use of the property:

Wednesday, February 19th from 6-8 PM at East Middle School, 1001 Atkins Street, Erie.

Thursday, February 20th from 4-6 PM at the Erie Center for Arts and Technology, 650 East Ave, Erie (This will be an open-house style session where people can arrive at any time during that window).

Information about these sessions, along with a registration link, is available on our website at https://www.porterie.org/eriecoke/
