Erie Zoo 100 year Grand Reopening Day celebration

Free Admission on Opening Day,100-Years of Memories, Education, Conservation

The Erie Zoo announced free admission to the 100-year Grand Reopening Day Celebration on Saturday, March 1, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m, today. 

Admission for the day will be free thanks to UPMC Health Plan and UPMC Children’s Hospital of Pittsburgh, providing an excellent opportunity to launch the 100th season of memories, education, conservation – and new celebrations. Food and beverages at the 100th year grand opening will be provided by local partners Mill Creek Coffee Company and Mighty Fine Donuts, while supplies last. 

“We are so excited to welcome the Erie community to what’s sure to be a 100th-year full of exciting new memories and reflections of the years gone by,” said Erie Zoo President and CEO Roo Kojancie. “This milestone year is the perfect time to reconnect with your Erie Zoo, as we kick off an unforgettable season.” 

To commemorate its 100th anniversary, the Erie Zoo will host Centennial Saturdays where one select Saturday a month, the first 100 guests will receive a special treat thanks to supporting sponsors. 

The zoo is open daily from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. from March 1 to Nov. 30 with special event hours listed on www.eriezoo.org
