Today, Erie Mayor Joe Schember and Gabi Watson, Events Manager at the City of Erie, announced the schedules for the 814 Concert Series and Sounds of Summer. Katie Bool-Shafer, Community Relations Manager at UPMC Health Plan, also spoke.
UPMC Community Plan is the sponsor of both the 814 Concert Series and Sounds of Summer.
The 814 Concert Series is a six-week event that brings a local band to a different City of Erie park, each Sunday evening, from July 6th through August 10th. The music will begin at 5pm, and each location will have a food truck and community resource tables.
This series has continued to grow since 2022 as we have collaborated with our Love Your Block (LYB) initiative.
This year, in alignment with the LYB Neighborhood Project Cleanups, the 814 Concerts will take place in:
- Baker Field, July 6
- Rodger Young Park, July 13
- Bayview Park, July 20
- Nickel Plate Mills, July 27
- Baldwin Park, August 3
- Wayne Park, August 10
Concertgoers will enjoy music from rock to reggae and more. We extend special thanks to our production manager, Mike Russo, for lining up these talented local bands.

The second concert series is the long-running Sounds of Summer. These concerts will be held on Mondays from July 7th through August 11th.
They will begin at 7 p.m. and rotate between senior living communities in the City of Erie.
The City thanks the Local 17 Music Fund for providing additional grant funding for Sounds of Summer, and to Allen Zurcher, from Local 17 for his assistance in booking bands and lining up the venues. Sounds of Summer would not be possible without this partnership.
This year, concerts will be held at:

- Mercy Terrace Apartments, July 14
- Ostrow Apartments, July 21
- Pennsylvania Soldiers’ and Sailors’ Home, July 28
- The Regency at South Shore, August 4
- Curry/Schell Apartments, August 11
