Extended hours, family fun, and member perks every Wednesday

The Erie Zoo is excited to bring back one of its most popular summer traditions: Wild Wednesdays. Every Wednesday in July, the Zoo will extend its hours and remain open until 8 PM, with family-friendly programming and a new member perk offered each week.

Visitors can expect a mix of engaging activities, including live entertainment, keeper talks, animal encounters, and more. For Erie Zoo members, a new Wild Wednesdays Punch Card adds an extra layer of fun. Each time a member attends, they’ll receive a punch and that week’s featured freebie. Members who collect all five punches will be entered to win a behind-the-scenes private tortoise feeding experience

“Evening visits to the Zoo have a special kind of energy,” said Roo Kojancie, president and CEO of the Erie Zoo. “This year, Wild Wednesdays bring a refreshed experience that’s all about fun, connection, and creating new memories. With extended hours and weekly surprises, we’re excited to give our guests more ways to enjoy the Zoo in a relaxed, summer setting.”

2025 Wild Wednesdays Member Perk Schedule

July 2 – Centennial Celebration Night
Kick things off with cake! Members will receive free slices of birthday cake (while supplies last) as we celebrate the Zoo’s 100th birthday.

July 9 – Enrichment Explorers
Help make a difference for the animals. Members can create enrichment items and help place them in exhibits. Photos will be shared on Zoo social media so guests can see their contributions in action.

July 16 – Rock It & Top It
Decorate your own zoo-themed rock to take home or share in your neighborhood. Then cool down with a free ice cream sundae and your choice of toppings (while supplies last).

July 23 – Carousel Spins & Summer Grins
Enjoy one free carousel ride per person and soak in the evening magic.

July 30 – Friends & Freeze Pops
Members can bring one guest for free (no guest pass required) and enjoy complimentary freeze pops as we wrap up a wildly fun July.

All Wild Wednesday activities and treats take place from 5 to 8 PM during extended hours. Programming is included with regular Zoo admission and is free for Erie Zoo members. Perks are reserved for members only, and all named members who are present are welcome to participate.
