Tired of the same old shopping list? It’s time to mix it up. Tickets are now on sale for Erie Arts & Culture’s Ethnic Market Tours, a flavorful journey through Erie’s incredible international markets, running select Saturdays from July through September.
Whether you’re a foodie, a culture lover, or just curious about Erie’s diverse communities, this tour is for you. Each two-hour experience invites you to snack, stroll, and shop your way around the world—without ever leaving Erie.
Led by tour guide Lubna Dabbah, who grew up in Erie with Palestinian and Syrian roots, these tours offer more than just good eats. “Food is how my family shares our culture and stays connected to our heritage,” Lubna says. “I want people to see these markets not just as grocery stores, but as places full of history, heart, and human connection.”
Tour Highlights:
- Visit 4–6 locally owned markets from Erie’s Iraqi, Syrian, Palestinian, Congolese, and Bhutanese-Nepali communities
- Sample traditional snacks and drinks
- Hear stories from shop owners about their journeys and cultures
- Browse unique products you won’t find in big-box stores
- End the tour at a local New American restaurant (optional, but highly recommended!)
