Erie County Public Library (ECPL) seeks public input ahead of renovations in the Mead Children’s Library at Raymond M. Blasco, MD Memorial Library. Whether visited for personal enjoyment, professional duties, or educational advancement, ECPL wants to hear how the Mead Children’s Library is currently used by patrons and what changes the public might suggest for a future version of the space.
ECPL received funding to renovate the Mead Children’s Library through the competitive Pennsylvania Department of Community & Economic Development’s Multi-Purpose Community Facilities Program. As part of this grant, the renovated space must be designed to directly support work, education, and health monitoring for at least five years following project completion. These goals must be reflected in the final design and will guide the prioritization of project elements.
Patrons of the Erie County Public Library and members of the Erie community may share their input via a short survey—available online at https://www.surveymonkey.com/r/ECPL-Childrens-Library and in paper format at all Erie County Public Library locations. Survey responses will be accepted now through August 23, coinciding with the end of the Summer Library Program.
All input will be reviewed by the design and project team; responses will help create a space that reflects the needs and hopes of the children it serves.
