On Saturday, August 2, 2025, from 10:30 am to 2:30 pm, The Robert Irvine Foundation will host a free, family-friendly community event at the Mellon Heritage Veterans Outreach Center that will bring together veterans, service members, and their families for a day of connection, support, and celebration. The event is being held as a part of the Robert Irvine Foundation’s broader mission to support those who serve and have served in our nation’s military.
“Our goal is straightforward: we aim to create a welcoming space where veterans and their families can come together, access resources, and enjoy a day dedicated to their well-being. This event is open to all service members, veterans, their families, and caregivers.” – Robert Yarnall VP, Development & Impact, Robert Irvine Foundation
Veteran service organizations on-site will be offering information on VA benefits, mental health services, employment support, and more. There will be a Face the Fight suicide intervention and prevention training for veterans, spouses, and caregivers. Children’s activities, including a bounce house, cornhole, and a live DJ, will be available throughout the day. All attendees will be treated to a free “Breaking Bread with Heroes” lunch. This day is designed to provide an opportunity for attendees to connect with fellow veterans and military families.
The Robert Irvine Foundation is proud to receive a 2025 Bob Woodruff Foundation Community Engagement Award, which supports this event and the Robert Irvine Foundation’s Face the Fight initiative, an effort to raise awareness and drive action around veteran suicide prevention. As a leader in the military and veteran community, the Bob Woodruff Foundation ensures that our nation’s veterans, service members, and their families—those who stood for us—have stable and successful futures.
Additional event partners include the Blue Cross Blue Shield Association and the PA Veteran Trust Fund.
