kate & co. CEO joins statewide advisory group focused on advancing equity and opportunity for women
Kate Philips, CEO and president of Kate Philips & Co. (kate & co.), has been appointed to serve on the Governor’s Advisory Commission on Women by Pennsylvania Governor Josh Shapiro.
Philips joins a distinguished group of leaders from across the Commonwealth who will advise the Governor and state agencies on policies and initiatives that impact the lives of women and girls in Pennsylvania. The Commission was re-established by Gov. Shapiro to ensure that the voices of women, particularly those from underserved communities, are reflected in decision-making in state government.
“I’m humbled and grateful to be selected to serve the commonwealth as part of Governor Shapiro’s Advisory Commission on Women,” said Kate Philips, CEO and president of kate & co. “Over the course of my career, I have had the opportunity to work with and for women and girls as an advocate, advisor, and employer – I plan to bring all of these experiences to the Commission as I join an extraordinary group of women, including Kristen Talarico, who is also serving from Erie.”
The Commission’s purpose is to gather information regarding Pennsylvania women’s experiences and needs; review, evaluate, and assess programs affecting them; provide the Governor with information and recommendations regarding how best to meet their needs; and provide information about programs and services that may be relevant to Pennsylvania women’s needs.
Based in Erie, kate & co. is a creative strategy firm committed to helping organizations build community through purposeful storytelling, design, and experiences. Under Philips’ leadership, the firm has grown into a trusted partner for public, private, and nonprofit clients across Pennsylvania and beyond.
Philips serves locally as the Chair of the Redevelopment Authority of Erie County, and on the Boards of Erie Police Athletic League, Erie Zoo, as well as the statewide Children First Action Fund Board of Directors.
