Officials with LECOM Health are pleased to announce Marcus C. Babiak, Pharm.D., has been appointed chief operating officer of Millcreek Community Hospital.

In this new role, Babiak will oversee the hospital’s day-to-day operations. He will also be responsible for leading and participating in the development and execution of programs, policies, procedures and initiatives that drive patient volume and retention.

“We are excited to have Dr. Babiak in this position,” said Mary L. Babiak joined LECOM Health in 2014 as Millcreek Community Hospital’s pharmacy director. In 2016, his duties grew to include that of a patient safety officer. Babiak’s role expanded further in 2020 when he became the hospital’s COVID-19 pandemic incident commander.

A native of Altoona, Babiak received his Bachelor of Science Degree from Juniata College before earning his Doctor of Pharmacy degree from the Lake Erie College of Osteopathic Medicine (LECOM) in 2010. In 2015, he completed LECOM’s Master of Health Services Administration (MHSA) program.
