Public investment prospectus announced at new annual event

Erie, PA – The Erie Regional Chamber and Growth Partnership announced its ‘White House Road Map to Reinvestment’ prospectus during its first-ever State of the Community event today. The White House Roadmap to Reinvestment outlines public projects and funding opportunities that support and enable private investment through Opportunity Zones and throughout the region.

In late 2018, Erie became the first city in the country to launch a municipal-level investment prospectus designed to market and promote investment opportunities to local, regional, and national networks of Opportunity Zone investors. The launch of the Road Map to Reinvestment marks Erie’s continued commitment to an economic development strategy that led to our recent recognition as the nation’s top urban Opportunity Zone from Forbes Magazine.

“The recognition the Erie and the Chamber has received over the past year is a big win for the region,” said Chamber President & CEO James Grunke. “But, it is just the beginning. This region’s civic, business, and political leadership must continue spreading the word that Erie is open for business, and the societal and financial return on investment in Erie is substantial. This event and the launch of the White House Road Map to Reinvestment will maintain that momentum and help our community achieve its potential.”

The State of the Community is a new event to be held annually to discuss the ongoing necessity of aligning Erie’s economic development strategies across sectors and industries. Each year, the event will review the accomplishments of the year prior and outline goals for the upcoming year, specific to the intersection of government, economic development, the business community, and higher education institutions.
