In an exclusive interview on Talk Erie.com, Erie County Executive Kathy Dahlkemper told Joel Natalie that she hopes school teachers would be prioritized to get the COVID-19 vaccine, for both the teachers sake and the sake of students and their families.

“I would love to get all of the teachers vaccinated, because I think getting our children back in school for their mental health, obviously, for their education, and for our economy is crucial. So many people cannot go to work, or cannot work as much as they normally would because their children are not in school,” Dahlkemper said.

Currently according to the P-A Department of Health’s vaccine plan, education workers are in Phase 1-B, behind millions of Pennsylvanians in the 1-A phase.
