The following Park Alert was posted on the Presque Isle State Park Facebook page:
Presque Isle State Park will be partially open to visitors on Labor Day, September 7 at 8:00 AM. Open areas include:
• Beach 1
• Beach 6 (Lyons Beach)
• Beach 8 (Pettinato Beach)
• The Karl Boyes Multi-Purpose Recreational Trail
Lifeguards will be at beaches 1, 6, and 8 from 10:00 AM until 5:45 PM.
The Presque Isle Marina and Gas Dock, the Waterworks area near the Rotary Pavilion, the park’s picnic shelters, the other beaches, and the interior hiking trails remain closed as storm clean up continues. Areas closed to the public will be marked as closed. For visitor safety, please obey the closure signs.
The Tom Ridge Environmental Center and Erie Bluffs State Park remain open to visitors for the holiday.

Happy Labor Day, Erie! Today, we recognize and celebrate the workers who keep our community strong and our city moving forward.
In light of last week’s devastating storm, we are especially grateful to the City employees and crews who worked around the clock to respond quickly and safely, clear our streets, restore critical services, and help our community begin to recover.
City Hall will be closed today, September 7, in observance of Labor Day. Normal business hours will resume Tuesday, September 8 from 8:30 AM – 4:30 PM.
REMINDERS:
– Trash and recycling collection will continue on the regular schedule.
– Don’t miss the annual Labor Day Parade, which will kick off in downtown Erie at 10:00 AM today. We hope to see you there!
