With greater investment in the downtown, comes the desire of young workers and entrepreneurs to live, work, and play, in Erie’s central business district. So says a leader of the Young Erie Professionals or YEP, a networking group of 21 to 40 year olds.

Bill Lillis Jr., a board member of YEP and financial advisor with Northwestern Mutual, told TalkErie.com the draw to downtown is powerful.

“There are so many young people who are just passionate, and they’re working so hard. And if downtown Erie is fun, then it just makes it that much easier for them to stay extra hours downtown, and work extra hard with their co-workers. They like it down there. They really like downtown and they want to live downtown,” said Lillis.
