CEO’s and IT personnel urged to be educated about cyber threats

Erie area small and medium businesses and nonprofits are not immune to continuous cyber attacks and threats. Meanwhile techniques for cyber security continue to change and what was best practice even three years ago is considered out of date now, according to local university and other experts behind the upcoming, Northwestern Pennsylvania Cyber Symposium, a free event for first responders and businesses and organizations in the region.

Mercyhurst University professor Dr. Christoher Mansour, explains its purpose. “The whole purpose of the symposium, is to collaborate all together making the community aware of all these cyber threats so that they can protect themselves,” said Mansour.

The event will be held Wednesday, April 24th. Registration at 8:30 am, 9:00 am start, and the conclusion at 2:30 pm, at the Bayfront Convention Center. RSVP no later than April 17 to Allen Clark at [email protected], or 814-724-2552.
