Erie City Council held its first session of the new year Wednesday morning, where they swore in reelected member Ed Brezinski and new members Kathy Schaaf and Tyler Titus.

Jasmine Flores was elected president to succeed Chuck Nelson, and Kathy Schaaf took the Vice President chair.

Meanwhile a resolution by Councilman Brezinski to appoint former member Mel Witherspoon into a two-year open seat failed to be adopted, ending in a current vacancy that Council has 30 days to resolve.
