
Unveiling a Series of Community-Focused Events
The City of Erie announced its official 2026 summer events today during a press conference on Tuesday, April 14.
“As we mark Erie’s official incorporation day and my 100th day in office, we’re celebrating not just our history, but the energy and momentum shaping our future,” said Mayor Daria S. Devlin. “We’re grateful to our partners and proud to bring our community together through events that celebrate Erie and create meaningful experiences for our residents.”
City officials unveiled a series of community-focused events designed to bring residents together throughout the summer season, including the return of CelebrateErie and Sounds of Summer. These events highlight Erie’s community spirit and create opportunities for residents and visitors to connect across the city.
Hunter Lytle, Special Events Coordinator for the Mayor’s Office of Community Affairs, discussed the return of CelebrateErie, highlighting exciting updates, as well as the Sounds of Summer series and changes to the 814 Concert series.
“We’re really excited about what this summer will bring,” said Lytle. “After hearing directly from residents and business owners, we’ve made meaningful updates to CelebrateErie, including moving the stage to improve the overall flow and experience for attendees.
“Along with Sounds of Summer and America250PA events with community partners, there’s something for everyone to enjoy, and we’re looking forward to seeing the community come out and celebrate together.”
In addition to City-led events, the City will also participate in America250PA programming in collaboration with local organizations as part of the nationwide celebrate of America’s 250th birthday.
Mayor Devlin highlighted a full slate of upcoming America250PA events taking place throughout 2026 with community partners, including Erie Philharmonic, expERIEnce Children’s Museum, Erie Playhouse, Erie SeaWolves, Hagen History Center, Erie-Western PA Port Authority, VisitErie, Erie Zoo, and Erie Events. Mayor Devlin also announced the return of the July 3rd fireworks and an added concert, A 250 Celebration: Lights and Liberty on the Lake, in partnership with Rebich Investments and Erie Events.
As part of this celebration, the City launched a youth logo contest inviting young people to design a patriotic logo for Erie’s July 4th weekend celebration honoring America’s 250th anniversary. The winning design was unveiled and will serve as the official logo for the celebration. Lauren Eberlin, 13, the designer of the winning logo, was recognized during the event.
Additional details about CelebrateErie, including headlining bands, will be announced on Thursday, May 14.
