Appointment adds regional business leadership during gateway planning phase
The Millcreek Township Supervisors unanimously voted at their May 12 regular meeting to appoint Brian Gorman to the Millcreek Township General Authority (MTGA), bringing the total number of board members to five.
Gorman serves as chief operating officer of Waldameer & Water World, a multi-generational Erie institution located within the broader Presque Isle Gateway corridor. In his role, he oversees operations and long-term strategic planning for one of the region’s most recognized destinations.
“I’m honored to join the Millcreek Township General Authority and contribute to the continued planning of the Gateway District,” said Gorman. “This corridor is an important part of our community, and I look forward to supporting thoughtful development that reflects Millcreek’s long-term vision.”
A lifelong Erie resident, Gorman has been active in several regional organizations, including Visit Erie and the Presque Isle Neighborhood Network. His experience includes operational leadership, financial oversight, and long-range planning within a complex and highly visible business environment.
In February, the MTGA approved a pre-development agreement with Millcreek Momentum LLC for the Gateway District project at West Eighth Street and Peninsula Drive. The initial due diligence period has concluded, and the project is now progressing through its structured planning and public engagement phase.
“Brian’s operational experience and familiarity with the Presque Isle corridor will be valuable as the Authority continues its work,” said MTGA Board Chair Dave Zimmer. “We are pleased to welcome him to the board during this important stage of the Gateway project.”
