Erie County will light the historic Erie County Courthouse teal in recognition of Tourette Syndrome Awareness and in support of the PA Tourette Syndrome Alliance.

The courthouse lighting aims to raise awareness and show support for individuals and families impacted by Tourette Syndrome and other tic disorders throughout Pennsylvania and across the nation.

According to the Tourette Association of America, Tourette Syndrome is a tic disorder involving both physical and verbal tics. Tics are involuntary, repetitive movements and vocalizations and are the primary symptoms of a group of childhood-onset neurological conditions collectively known as Tic Disorders.

“Erie County is proud to join communities across Pennsylvania in recognizing Tourette Syndrome Awareness and supporting those living with tic disorders,” said Erie County Executive Christina Vogel. “Lighting the courthouse teal is a visible reminder that awareness, understanding, and compassion matter.”

The courthouse will be illuminated teal on Monday, May 19, 2026.
