Blues, soul, R&B, and rockabilly will fill the air at WQLN’s scenic wood pavilion this summer as the station’s “Sounds Around Town” concert series returns with four evenings of free live music. Presented with support from Romolo Chocolates, Mazza Vineyards, and Erie Arts & Culture, the outdoor series invites the community to enjoy family-friendly performances from regional artists while experiencing a live television production in action.
This year’s lineup features three Erie-based acts and one band from the Cleveland area. Each concert begins at 7:30 p.m. and lasts 60 to 90 minutes. WQLN’s production team will begin setting up and filming at 6 p.m., and attendees are encouraged to arrive early.
In addition to free admission, complimentary beer from New Trail Brewing Company and grilled hot dogs made by our staff will be available while supplies last.
“What makes ‘Sounds Around Town’ stand out from other summer concerts in the Erie area is the opportunity to see a live, professional production come together as the bands perform,” said Bill Moon, production manager at WQLN. “We’ll have multiple staff members operating cameras, giving the audience a behind-the-scenes look and even the chance to appear on TV.”
