People raced into the poles on Tuesday, May 19th, to cast their vote in the Primary Election to set up an intense race this November.
Across the Commonwealth, Current Governor Josh Shapiro and Incumbent Treasurer Stacy Garrity ran unopposed and will be going head to head until November for the Governor’s office.
At the Federal Level, Justin Wagner ran unopposed and won the Democratic vote to now go against Republican Mike Kelly for the PA 16th district.
For the State Committee, the Democrats put forward Ryan Bizzaro, who was the top receiver in votes with 15.85%, who was then followed by Jim Wertz with 13.39%, Kristy Gnibus with 9.91%, Valerie Perkins with 9.37%, and Michael Keys with 8.80%. On the Republican side, Brian Shank was at the top with 16.52%. Following behind him is Tim Kuzma with 16.08%, Donna Reese with 14.26%, Matt Strupczewski with 13.40%, and Kolleen Sweeny with 11.29%. Final results will determine the further races among the candidates.
When diving deeper into Erie County, Democrats Patrick Harkins will represent District 1 and Bob Merski with District 2 as they both ran unopposed. Now, when looking at the other districts, Republican Donna Reese will be running against Democrat Ryan Bizzaro for District 3, Democrat Kathryn Divittorio will be challenging Republican Jake Banta for District 4, and in District 6, Republican Brad Roae will face Democrat Michael Walker.
Further write-ins may change the results of certain races. Results will follow.
General Election day is November 3rd, 2026. You must register to vote before October 19th.
