Make wild memories at Tom Ridge Environmental Center all summer long
This summer, the Tom Ridge Environmental Center Foundation and Regional Science Consortium (RSC) are teaming up to offer evening hours at Tom Ridge Environmental Center each Thursday night. The new program, TREC: After Hour, transforms Thursday evenings into Erie’s ‘wildest’ night out. Each week delivers an exciting new theme, sparking curiosity and fun all summer long. The series runs every Thursday, June 4 through August 20, from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m.
In addition to the TREC Foundation and RSC, various environmental partners will be participating on select dates to help bring the weekly theme to life and share their expertise in outdoors, wildlife, conservation and science. Attendees can expect hands-on activities for all ages, free film screenings in the Big Green Screen theater, and behind the scenes tours of TREC. From bird banding and live turtles to the science of root beer floats and aquaponics, there’s something wild waiting every week.
The series is free and open to the public, with no registration required. Jennifer Farrar, President & CEO of the TREC Foundation, shared, “The TREC Foundation is thrilled to partner with the Regional Science Consortium to offer new experiences and activities for all ages each week. Whether you are stopping by just to see a movie or coming to learn and explore, we know people are still coming to Presque Isle into the evenings during the summer months and are happy to make TREC available as part of that visit.”
