On May 27th, Erie County announced a summer-long series of America250PA events celebrating 250 years of American history and highlighting Erie County’s role in that story.
Major events include:
June 6 – Kickoff Concert
The Fray | Erie Insurance Arena
The celebration begins with a free concert featuring The Fray at the Erie Insurance Arena. The event quickly reached capacity, reflecting strong community enthusiasm for America250 kickoff programming.
June 12 – Community Night at the Ballpark
Erie SeaWolves Game | Partnership with Erie County Community College
An evening of hometown pride featuring a SeaWolves game, followed by a fireworks display celebrating community spirit and partnership.
June 14 – America250 Arts & Music Festival
Erie County Fairgrounds – Wattsburg
A countywide celebration of local talent, culture, and creativity.
Event Highlights:
– Presentation of the Colors and National Anthem
– Flags of Unity display by the Sons of Lake Erie
– Dedication of the Erie County 50-Year Time Capsule
– Car Show1
Municipalities across Erie County will receive information on how to participate in the time capsule project and contribute messages for future generations.
August 21 – America 250 Birthday Bash on the Bayfront
Bayfront Convention Center
The signature gala event of the summer featuring an immersive historical experience.
Event Highlights:
– Culinary and beverage experiences representing 50-year eras since 1776
– Period décor and immersive storytelling
– Historical reenactments
– Live entertainment celebrating America’s journey and Erie County’s place within it
Tickets will be available through Erie Events.

A summer-long initiative featuring programs, curated book selections, and reading challenges designed to explore 250 years of American history.
