United Way of Erie County is proud to announce that Scot Galloway, United Way Community School Director at Perry Elementary, a United Way Community School, has received the Institute for Educational Leadership Community School Coordinator Award.

The national award recognizes a Community School Coordinator who demonstrates strong collaboration, inclusiveness and leadership across their school community, while helping achieve measurable results for students, families and the broader community.

Galloway was nominated by more than 10 Perry Elementary teachers and staff members, a reflection of the relationships and trust he has built within the school community.

“This recognition is well deserved and speaks to the consistent, relationship-driven work Scot does at Perry,” said Mike Jaruszewicz, President of United Way of Erie County. “It also reflects the important work happening every day across all United Way Community Schools. Our Community School Directors show up for students, families, staff and partners in ways that make a real difference.”

Galloway was recognized Wednesday, May 27, during the National Community Schools and Family Engagement Conference in Long Beach, California. Meghan Easter, Associate Vice President of Community Schools, and Mike Jaruszewicz accepted the award on his behalf.

United Way Community School Directors work inside seventeen schools across Erie County to help identify needs, coordinate resources and strengthen partnerships that support student success.
