Elected members of the Erie County Democratic Committee voted on Saturday, June 6 to elect new leadership to the Party’s executive board, including the election of Seth Trott as Chairman of the Erie County Democratic Party.

Seth Trott is an attorney and Founding President of Presque Isle Neighborhood Network (PINN), a nonprofit focused on revitalizing neighborhoods near Presque Isle. His work has focused on neighborhood revitalization, voter protection, and community development. A native of the City of Erie and a current Millcreek resident, Trott currently serves on a regional public infrastructure board and has previously served in leadership for Impact Corry.

“I am honored to have the trust of Erie County Democrats and am excited to get to work,” said Trott. “Erie County is one of the most important political battlegrounds in this country, and our work starts at the local level by organizing year-round, supporting strong candidates, and connecting with voters to build trust.”

The new executive board reflects a generational shift in Erie County Democratic leadership, while also bringing back former Chair Jim Wertz as Parliamentarian to help ensure fair processes and orderly meetings.

Trott succeeds Sam Talarico, who served as Chair of the Erie County Democratic Party from November 2023 through the 2026 primary. Talarico did not intend to seek another term as Chair.

“I’m grateful for the work of our outgoing leadership and for everyone who has helped sustain this Party through several challenging election cycles,” Trott said. “This new team brings new energy and voices to the work ahead. Now our job is to bring people together, strengthen our organization, and organize for victory this November and onward.”

The Democratic Party reorganizes every four years following the May primary election in gubernatorial election years. Committee members elected in the 2026 primary voted to select the Party’s officers for the next four-year term.
